UNIONDALE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) – A man robbed a Long Island Valero gas station Thursday, pistol-whipping a worker, Nassau County Police said.
The armed man demanded cash from the employee at around 10:20 p.m. in Uniondale. The robber later hit the employee with the handgun.
The victim, 25, handed over an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.
There were two employees in the store at the time of the robbery.
The robber later fled the scene on foot towards Brookside Avenue. He was identified as a black thin male approximately 5'6" tall.
The man who was hit had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Detectives are still investigating the incident.
