NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Long Island Rail Road service resumed between Penn Station and Jamaica with major delays on Monday morning after switch problems forced the MTA to partially suspend service.
The MTA said at 8:45 a.m. that service had resumed with 30-to-45-minute delays on trains to and from Penn Station.
Earlier in the morning, the MTA said Amtrak switch problems at Penn Station forced the suspension of service between Penn Station and Jamaica.
As of 8:45 a.m., the MTA website showed delays on every LIRR branch.
LIRR tickets were being cross-honored on the subway at Atlantic Terminal, officials said.
Just this past weekend, all service on the LIRR was temporarily suspended as a nor'easter hammered Long Island.
