Man, 30, critical after being run over, beaten during fight in Queens

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released photos on Tuesday of a suspect accused of running over and beating another man during a fight on a Queens street earlier this month, leaving him in critical condition.

Just before 7 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, in the vicinity of Broadway and 46th Street in Astoria, a 30-year-old man was standing on the street and became involved in a verbal dispute with the suspect.

During the dispute, the suspect entered the driver's seat of a dark-colored Nissan Altima and struck the victim with the moving vehicle, causing the victim to fall to the ground, authorities said.

According to police, the suspect exited the vehicle and repeatedly punched the victim before returning to the car and fleeing the location, traveling northbound on 45th Street to parts unknown.

The victim sustained severe trauma to the head and was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in serious critical condition. The attack put him in a coma, sources told PIX11.

The suspect was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, gray jean shorts, white sneakers and a baseball cap.
