NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD launched an investigation in a double shooting in the Bronx Sunday night that left one man dead and a second one injured.
Just before 8 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a 911 call of a person shot in front of 2179 White Plains Rd. in Pelham Parkway, authorities said.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 32-year-old man who sustained a gunshot wound to the back. He was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.
Officers were later informed by hospital staff that 33-year-old Kemahni Smalls of Staten Island had also sustained a gunshot wound to the back at the same location.
Smalls was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi by private means and was subsequently pronounced dead.
