
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death during an assault on a Brooklyn street Saturday and police are searching for the man they say is responsible.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. in front of 789 Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights, police said.
Officers were called to the scene with reports of an assault in progress. When they arrived, they found Kerwin Cox unconscious and unresponsive lying on the sidewalk.
An investigation revealed that the attacker approached Cox and engaged him in a dispute before stabbing him multiple times in the torso.
The attacker fled the scene and Cox was transferred to Interfaith Medical Center where he later died, authorities said.
The suspect is described as being about 5'8" weighing about 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded Nike sweatshirt, blue jeans, a blue baseball hat, and blue/white Nike sneakers.
