NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was killed when his out-of-control motorcycle crashed into the center median of the FDR Drive on the Lower East Side Tuesday morning, police said.

The 36-year-old man, who hasn’t been identified, was riding southbound on the FDR around 7 a.m. when he hit the center median near the exit for the Manhattan Bridge.
He was thrown from the motorcycle and landed on the roadway, according to the Daily News. Graphic video from Citizen App appears to show someone trying to revive him on the roadway.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital but did not survive.
The crash shut down the southbound lanes of the FDR during the morning rush. At one point, traffic was backed up from Grand Street all the way to the Queensboro Bridge.
