NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian as he was crossing a parkway in Brooklyn Wednesday night, the NYPD said.
The 54-year-old man was crossing Rockaway Parkway, at Lenox Road, just before 11 p.m. when a driver in a BMW traveling south on the parkway hit him, police said Thursday.
The man was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said. His name wasn't immediately released.
The BMW driver fled the scene after hitting the man and hadn't been arrested as of Thursday morning, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
