NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 56-year-old man was punched in the face and knocked unconscious at a playground in Queens over the weekend, police said Wednesday.
The NYPD released images of the suspect they’re searching for in Sunday evening’s attack at the Lawrence Virgilio Playground in Woodside.
It’s unclear if the victim and his attacker were in some sort of dispute before the assault around 7:20 p.m.
According to police, the suspect came up and struck the victim as he was inside the playground at 54th Street and 39th Drive.
The force of the blow caused him to fall to the ground and lose consciousness, police said.
EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was in stable condition.
