NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Queens man arrested and charged Friday after dozens of vehicles were spray-painted in Astoria since March.
Herberto Torres, 57, was charged with 46 counts of making graffiti, 46 counts of criminal mischief and 46 counts of possession of a graffiti instrument, police said.
Torres was charged days after police released surveillance video of a suspect wanted in connection with the vandalism spree.
Police said the vandal first struck on March 26, when he spray-painted 20 vehicles on 35th Street, between 31st Avenue and Broadway, in a two-hour span.
The vandalism spree continued on the mornings of May 18, May 19 and May 22, when police said a man spray-painted another 45 vehicles all throughout the neighborhood.
