NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 60-year-old man was attacked with a cane at random as he walked on a Bronx street, police said Thursday.
The unprovoked attack happened early Wednesday morning near Gerard Avenue and E. 158th Street in the Concourse section, according to police.

The victim was walking on the sidewalk at 2 a.m. when another man came up and struck him over the head with a metal cane, police said.
The attacker fled and the victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was in stable condition with lacerations to his head.
The NYPD released surveillance video of a suspect, cane in hand, on Thursday.
