NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Police on Tuesday released surveillance footage of a man wanted for striking a 70-year-old man in the head then robbing him in broad daylight on a Bronx street over the weekend.
It happened at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, when the victim was entering his residential building located in the vicinity of Anderson and Jerome avenues in Concourse.
According to officials, the susepct approached the victim from behind and struck him in the head with an unknown object.
The suspect then stole the victim's wallet from his right front pocket and fled on foot to parts unknown. His wallet contained credit cards and a MetroCard, authorities said.
The victim sustained minor injuries and bruising and was transported to an area hospital by private means.
The suspect was last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans, black sneakers, blue winter hat and carrying a black book bag.
