NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a trio of men wanted in connection to a violent robbery that occurred early in the Bronx Sunday morning.
At approximately 2:07 a.m., the victim, a 76-year-old man, was walking in the vicinity of Webb Avenue and Sedgwick Avenue in Kingsbridge when he was approached by the three men on mopeds.
One of the suspects punched the victim in the head, causing him to fall to the ground, officials said.
While the victim was on the ground, the suspects forcibly went through the victim's pockets and took a cellphone.
One of the suspects then threw the phone onto the sidewalk, damaging the screen.
The suspects fled on mopeds westbound on West Fordham Road.
EMS treated the victim on scene by for a laceration and pain to the head.
