
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- An 82-year-old man was attacked with a stick in an unprovoked assault near Prospect Park in Brooklyn over the weekend, police said Monday.
The victim was walking at East 16th Street and Church Avenue in Prospect Park South around 7 a.m. Sunday when another man came up and started beating him with a stick.
The victim was also stabbed in the head with the stick, according to reports.
Police nabbed Marvin Reyes, 33, in connection with the attack. He was charged with assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
There's no known motive for the apparently random attack, police said.
The victim was transported to Maimonides Hospital in stable condition.
