Man, 86, dies in boat fire at Brooklyn Bridge Park marina

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An 86-year-old man died in a boat fire at a Brooklyn Bridge Park marina on Saturday morning, police said.

The fire was reported at Pier 5 Marina in Brooklyn Heights around 6:15 a.m.

After the FDNY put out the fire, the man was found unresponsive in the hull of the boat, police said.

He was rushed by EMS to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said an investigation is ongoing and that the medical examiner will determine his cause of death.

His identity has been withheld pending the notification of his family.
