NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD on Tuesday released photos of a man they are looking to identify for allegedly throwing an 89-year-old man to the ground and robbing him in broad daylight in Queens last week.
It happened at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, in front of 146-21 Jamaica Ave., officials said.
According to police, the suspect approached the victim, violently grabbed him, and threw him to the ground. The suspect then allegedly kicked the man before forcibly ripping off his necklace and stealing $1,300.
The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading westbound on Jamaica Avenue.
The 89-year-old victim suffered injuries to the back of his neck.
Authorities describe the suspect as a male between 18 and 25 years old. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, gray shorts, and black shoes.
