NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was attacked with stones on a Bronx street last week, leaving him hospitalized in critical condition, police said.
The 28-year-old victim was attacked last Wednesday morning on Brook Avenue, near E. 147th Street, in Mott Haven.
Police said a man approached the victim from behind just before 5 a.m. and struck him in the back of the head with a cobblestone.

The assailant then stomped the victim's head and upper back before picking up a different stone and striking him with it, police said.
A woman found the victim a short time later and called 911.
The victim suffered severe head trauma and was taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition.
The New York Post reported that the assailant followed the victim for several blocks before the attack. It's unclear if the two knew each other.
Police said the suspect was last seen fleeing eastbound on E. 147th Street.
