NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police have arrested a 38-year-old man who allegedly shot and injured his girlfriend's 8-year-old daughter inside a Bronx apartment last month, the NYPD said.
Jayshiem Daniels, 38, was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child on Wednesday, police said.
Daniels allegedly shot the girl inside an apartment on East 143rd Street in Mott Haven on Sept. 23, the NYPD said. She was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the New York Post reported.
He fled the state after the shooting, but was arrested in Vermont on Monday on a separate drug charge, according to the outlet.
His attorney information wasn't immediately available Thursday.
