NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was shot and killed as he drove away from a house party in Queens with a group of people early Saturday morning, police said.

The 26-year-old man and three passengers were leaving the party in a white Acura near Hollis Avenue and 199th Street in St. Albans shortly before 4:15 a.m. when shots rang out, police said.

The man was struck in the chest by a bullet and began driving erratically as one of the passengers tried to gain control of the Acura, according to police.

The vehicle traveled for about nine blocks before coming to a stop at the corner of Francis Lewis Boulevard and 111th Avenue in Queens Village, police said.

The driver was taken by EMS to Queens Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The three passengers were not injured, police said.

A photo from the scene shows two bullet holes in the driver's side window of the Acura, as well as front-end damage to the car.

Police said no arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
