NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a man was fatally struck by a dump truck while crossing a Queens street Thursday morning.
At approximately 7:12 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at 14th Road and 115th Street in College Point.
Upon arrival, officers observed 63-year-old Lance Ruthkowski unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to the head and body.
EMS pronounced Ruthkowski dead at the scene.
Further investigation conducted by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad revealed that a 55-year-old man driving a 2020 Peterbilt Dump Truck was traveling westbound on 14 Road, when he struck Ruthkowski, who was crossing 14 Road, from north to south.
The driver remained on scene.
There are no arrests and an investigating is ongoing.
