NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating after a man made anti-Asian remarks while menacing a woman on a street in Tribeca this month, police said.
The NYPD released surveillance video of a suspect Thursday, about three weeks after he allegedly targeted the 47-year-old woman near the corner of Desbrosses Street and Hudson Street on the morning of April 1.
As the man passed by the woman around 9:30 a.m., he made anti-Asian remarks and motioned to her with a raised, closed fist while "posturing in an aggressive stance," police said.

The confrontation caused the woman to fear for her safety, police said.
The man fled on foot southbound down Hudson Street, according to police.
No injuries were reported.
The incident comes amid a spike in anti-Asian hate crimes in the city.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
