NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Bronx bar shooting left two people hospitalized after a man allegedly opened fire inside a lounge, where an off-duty parole officer returned fire early Monday morning, according to police.

The shooting happened at around 1:45 a.m. when a 40-year-old man was kicked out of The Kutty Lounge on Boston Road, cops said. Instead of leaving, he allegedly went to his car, retrieved a gun, returned to the lounge, and began shooting.

A bullet struck a 37-year-old employee in the right leg.

An off-duty New York State parole officer, who was inside the bar at the time, returned fire, striking the suspect multiple times in the torso, cops said.

The suspect then attempted to flee the scene in his car but crashed into a nearby pole. He is in critical condition at the hospital, according to cops.

The employee is in stable condition at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi Hospital.
