NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man made antisemitic remarks and stole a man’s Israeli flag before punching him in the face on Monday, police said Wednesday as they released an image of a suspect.
The incident happened at around 3:30 p.m. in front of 41 Claremont Ave. in Morningside Heights, where the 22-year-old victim was involved in a verbal argument with the suspect.
The suspect then made anti-Semitic comments, grabbed the victim’s Israeli flag, and punched him in the face when he tried to retrieve it.
The suspect then fled on foot, heading north on Claremont Avenue.
The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.
The suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark jeans, and black-and-white sneakers.
