NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released photos of a suspect accused of punching a man then robbing him in Union Square last month, authorities said.
The robbery happened at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Friday, September 16, in front of 411 West 14th St., police said.
According to officials, a 59-year-old man was walking eastbound on West 14 Street when the suspect approached him from behind and demanded his cellphone.
He punched the victim in the back of the head, causing him to fall to the ground.
The suspect then stole the victim's iPhone 13 from his pants pocket and fled on foot heading westbound on West 14 Street toward Washington Street.
The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.
The suspect was last seen wearing a red baseball hat, a red t-shirt, ripped up blue jeans and red sneakers.
