NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is searching for a man who is wanted for attacking two victims with a hammer during an attempted robbery in Brooklyn last week, authorities said.
It happened on Friday, April 15, at 2 a.m. in front of 135 North 6 Street in Williamsburg, police said.
Two men, ages 41 and 35, were walking to an establishment when they were approached by a group of men, including the suspect. Words were exchanged and the group demanded the older victim's jewelry, officials said.
A physical confrontation ensued and the victims were punched and struck with a hammer.
The first victim suffered a broken right leg and pain and bruising to his body and the second victim suffered pain and bruising to his face and body.
No property was taken and the group fled on foot.
The victims were transported in stable condition by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst.
