NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A man was critically injured after being stabbed at least eight times in broad daylight at a park in the East Village, police said Monday as they released video of a suspect.
The 35-year-old victim got into a dispute with his attacker on the southwest end of Tompkins Square Park last Monday evening, according to police.
The argument escalated just before 6 p.m. and the second man stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing on foot, police said.
The victim suffered stab wounds to his left shoulder, right shoulder, chest, left arm, right forearm, left leg, left calf and right leg, according to police.
He was transported by EMS to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
Police said surveillance video shows the suspect walking northbound on Avenue A after the stabbing.
