VIDEO: Man stabbed with his own knife in dispute inside Harlem subway station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An attacker stabbed a man with his own knife after the two got into an argument inside a Harlem subway station on Monday, the NYPD said.

The 51-year-old victim began arguing with a man he knew inside the 125th Street 2 and 3 train station, at Malcolm X Boulevard, just after 6 a.m., police said.

At some point during the dispute, the attacker threatened the 51-year-old with a broken-off umbrella handle, and produced two metal objects while the other man pulled out two knives, the NYPD said.

The attacker struck the victim, slammed him to the ground, gained control of one of the knives, and stabbed the victim multiple times to his back, police said.

The suspect fled on foot topside, according to officials.

The 51-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, the NYPD said. His attacker hadn't been arrested as of Tuesday morning.

A witness told 1010 WINS the two men were arguing about drugs and money. An investigation is ongoing.
