NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A woman walking in Chelsea was attacked unprovoked by a man who struck her in the head with a baseball bat, police said Monday.

The NYPD released video of the suspect they're searching for in the Feb. 8 assault at West 23rd Street and Seventh Avenue.

The 25-year-old victim was walking just after 10 p.m. that Thursday night when a man unknown to her bashed her over the head with the bat, police said.

The blow caused a laceration and bruising to her head. She was transported to Lenox Hill Hospital, where she was in stable condition.
