NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD released images Wednesday of a man who allegedly grabbed a woman by the neck, beat her and stole her purse on the Upper East Side this week.
The victim, 52, was walking at East 92nd Street and Third Avenue shortly before midnight on Monday night when the man grabbed her by the neck, police said.
He then pulled her to the ground, where he repeatedly punched and kicked her, according to police.
As she was lying on the ground, he allegedly stole her purse.
He then ditched the purse and fled on foot, according to cops, who said he was last seen headed westbound on East 92nd Street.
EMS responded to the scene and treated the victim for minor injuries, police said.
