NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man walking on the elevated tracks of the 7 line in Queens was fatally struck by a train Tuesday morning, leading to a partial suspension of the line, officials said.
The FDNY received a call around 6:30 a.m. about a man under a train at the 82nd Street station in Jackson Heights.
EMS responded to the station and pronounced him dead at the scene.

According to police, the train operator saw the man walking on the tracks but was unable to stop the train in time.
The deadly strike led to widespread service disruptions on the 7 line that continued into the morning rush.
Service was suspended between 33rd Street and 74th Street for about two hours. While service was restored by 8:30 a.m., there were "severe delays" in both directions, according to the MTA. The latest service changes can be found at MTA.info.
