
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who assaulted a 21-year-old man on the Upper East Side while yelling anti-gay slurs last week.
The victim was walking on First Avenue near East 81st Street around 3:08 a.m. on June 12 when he was attacked, according to officials.
The attacker repeatedly punched him in the face while making homophobic remarks before fleeing on foot, authorities said.
The victim suffered a broken nose and bruising on his face. He took himself to Lenox Hill Hospital for treatment.
The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the attack.
