NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released surveillance video Tuesday morning of a man being sought in connection with the rape of a 70-year-old woman inside a Bronx apartment building late last month.
Video shows the man following the victim inside her Belmont apartment building at around 2 a.m., July 27, before he forced her into the stairwell with a gun and raped her, police said.
The suspect, who was wearing one black and one red plastic mask, is described as 5'8" tall, 170 pounds, with a slim build and a dark complexion.
Police said he was last seen wearing a black du-rag, a black hooded sweatshirt, a white T-shirt, bluejeans, black sneakers and carrying a silver handgun before he fled.

The victim suffered injuries after the rape but did not report the incident until she went to BronxCare Health System hospital for evaluation on Monday and reported the assault, the NYPD said.
