NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Victorious (Tori) Smith, a 12-year-old girl from Brooklyn, has been missing since she left her home on Tuesday morning, prompting an investigation.
Tori left her home in Prospect Lefferts Garden—located on Ocean Avenue near Lakeside Avenue—at 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday to go to school.
“She went to school, as she does every day, and then after school, I watched as her Air Tag on her phone went in one direction and the train that she usually takes home, which goes to Brooklyn, went in the opposite direction,” Eliana Perozo, Tori’s older sister and guardian, told 1010 WINS/WCBS 880.
She was last seen wearing a blue hoodie with the name “Keith Harring” written in cursive, black and white vertical striped pants, white Air Force One Nike sneakers and a pink LL Bean backpack.
Perozo said that she and Tori had just had a bad fight about the time Tori had been spending with a 16-year-old boy, and it is possible that she ran away.
“She’s been in New York for now for two years, and she’s had a lot of changes and transitions, and I think that all of that in addition to adolescence can make you feel really lonely,” Perozo said. “I think that she sometimes internalizes the reprimand for things that she just can’t do as like, feeling they’re way worse than they are.”
Tori is described as a white, 160-pound, 5’1” girl.
Perozo’s one goal is to get Tori home safely. “I’m just really scared, and I really want her to come home,” she said through tears.
“There’s nothing that she could do that would make me not want her or not want her to be in my home, because it’s her home,” Perozo added.
