NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police have released photos on Monday of a moped driver wanted in connection with a hit-and-run collision that left a 68-year-old man injured in Astoria last month.
It happened at about 1:15 a.m. on Friday, July 24 in the vicinity of Steinway Street and 30th Avenue. As a 68-year-old man was stepping off an MTA bus, he was struck by a moped traveling eastbound on 30th Avenue, authorities said.
The moped driver fled the scene, heading eastbound on 30th Avenue to parts unknown.
The victim sustained severe trauma to his head as a result of the collision. EMS rushed him to Mount Sinai Queens, where he was listed in stable condition.
