NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 53-year-old man died Thursday night in Brooklyn after he lost control and was thrown from his motorcycle, authorities said.
Just before 9 p.m., police responded to a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle in the vicinity of Avenue W and East 69th Street in Bergen Beach.
Upon arrival, officers observed the motorcyclist lying on the roadway, unconscious and unresponsive, with trauma to his body.
EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.
An investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined the man, whose name has not been released by police, was operating a 2010 Honda motorcycle, traveling westbound on Avenue W, passing the intersection of East 69th Street, when he failed to properly navigate the roadway, and was ejected from the motorcycle ad landing on the roadway.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
