TRENTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Another state has been added to New Jersey's 14-day quarantine travel advisory: Vermont.

The Garden State's advisory now consists of 46 states and territories, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Tuesday.

The travel advisory applies to any person arriving from a state or territory with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents, or a state with a 10 percent or higher positivity rate over a seven-day rolling average.

The states and territories on the advisory are: Alabama; Alaska; Arizona; Arkansas; California; Colorado; Florida; Georgia; Guam; Iowa; Idaho; Indiana; Illinois; Kansas; Kentucky; Louisiana; Maine; Maryland; Massachusetts; Michigan; Minnesota; Missouri; Mississippi; Montana; North Carolina; North Dakota; Nebraska; New Hampshire; New Mexico; Nevada; Ohio; Oklahoma; Oregon; Puerto Rico; Rhode Island; South Carolina; South Dakota; Tennessee; Texas; Utah; Vermont; Virginia; Wisconsin; West Virginia; Washington; and Wyoming.

Murphy reported 38 new COVID-19-related fatalities on Tuesday, bringing the state's death toll to 14,817.

The state also reported 4,060 new positive COVID-19 test results, including 413 in Bergen County and 401 in Middlesex County, he said.

As of Monday, 2,320 people in the state were hospitalized with confirmed or probable COVID-19 cases, 458 of whom were in intensive care and 155 of whom were on ventilators.

"It goes without saying that we're continuing to do everything we can to push back against the current COVID-19 pandemic and this second wave, and to save every life we possibly can, especially, as they say, now that the second wave is crashing around us," the governor said.
