NJ man, 43, gets 3 years in prison for sexting 14-year-old boy

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A Wall Township man was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday for sexting who he believed to be a 14-year-old boy in 2019, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Kenneth Megill, 43, used an online dating platform to message the child. He sent sexual messages to the boy and requested nude photographs.

Megill pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child on Oct. 14.

In addition to the three-year sentence, he will have to register as a sex offender and serve parole supervision for the rest of his life.
