Judge Jenny Rivera, one of seven judges on the Court of Appeals, has been blocked from entering any courts since the Unified Court System’s vaccine mandate took effect Sept. 27, the New York Post reported.

Rivera is reportedly the only state jurist who has declined vaccination without providing a medical waiver to keep serving in the state’s highest court under Chief Judge Janet DiFiore.

When court activity resumes Tuesday, Rivera will be the lone judge to attend hearings via videoconference, according to the Post.

“If it works for her and she can participate remotely, I don’t see the problem,” said state Court of Appeals spokesman Gary Spencer told the paper. “ We do not discuss the personal health information of anyone — judges or staff.”
