NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New York state will lift restrictions on its five remaining "yellow zone" clusters, eliminate some business curfews and allow indoor fitness classes to resume within the next month, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday.
The state will eliminate two cluster zones in the Bronx, one in Washington Heights, one in Newburgh and New Windsor and one in Kew Gardens and Forest Hills this coming Monday, March 22, Cuomo said at a news briefing.
"Any restrictions that had been in place will be lifted, and will fall in line with overall state guidance," he explained.
Indoor fitness classes across the state will be allowed to resume that day as well, with safety precautions and restrictions in place, the governor said.
"Gyms were open, but indoor fitness classes were not open," he said. "And that caused a certain amount of consternation."
The state will also lift the 11 p.m. curfew that is currently in place for casinos, movie theaters, gyms, bowling alleys, billiard halls and fitness centers on April 5, Cuomo said.
