NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A off-duty New York City Department of Correction worker was arrested after he allegedly broke an iPad inside a ShopRite, the NYPD said Tuesday.

Gordon Noel, 36, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief in Brooklyn’s 75th Precinct, which includes East New York and Cypress Hills, around 8 p.m. on Monday, police said.

Police said Noel was inside a ShopRite when he removed an iPad from its stand. At some point after Noel removed it, the iPad hit the floor, causing around $700 worth of damage, the NYPD said.

The department couldn’t provide any additional information about the incident. Noel’s attorney information wasn’t immediately available Tuesday.

1010 WINS has reached out to the Department of Correction for comment on his arrest.
