NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man who was found guilty of stabbing his girlfriend to death inside their Manhattan apartment has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison, according to a report.
A judge handed the sentence down to Joshua Martinez, 34, on Friday, the Daily News reported. Martinez reportedly admitted to killing Carol Nystrom, 44, at their home in Inwood last September.
"I wanted to say that I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused for the people in the room," Martinez said at his sentencing, according to the outlet.
Nystrom worked as a DoorDash delivery person, a dog walker and a seamstress before her death, the outlet reported.
