NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A New York City sanitation department worker who was arrested for storming the Capitol building with a Trump flag has resigned from his job.
A Department of Sanitation spokesperson told the New York Post Brooklyn resident Dominick Madden, 43 quit after he was arrested last week.
The department suspended Madden after he was caught on video wearing a blue QAnon sweatshirt inside the Capitol building on Jan. 6.
Madden was on sick leave from his job at that time, the Associated Press reported.
"Mayor de Blasio has been very clear that if we have proof that a city employee was involved in this attack, they will not be working for New York City any longer," the spokesperson said in a statement provided to the Post.
"DSNY will assist our partners at NYPD and federal law enforcement in any way we can," the spokesperson added.
Madden's attorney information wasn't immediately available Wednesday.
