NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is investigating after a man and woman were found dead on sidewalks in Queens in apparently separate incidents, authorities said Wednesday.
According to officials, at approximately 7:18 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a 911 call of an aided at 107-01 101 Ave. in Richmond Hill.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 45-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive lying on the sidewalk.
EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
Less than a day later, and about 10 blocks away, at about 3:48 a.m. on Wednesday, police on patrol observed an unconscious woman on Pitkin Avenue at 83rd Street in Ozone Park.
The officers observed the woman lying on the sidewalk unconscious and unresponsive with no visible signs of trauma.
EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.
The medical examiner will work to determine the cause of death of the man and woman and and an investigation is ongoing.
