NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are investigating the "suspicious" death of a 12-year-old Brooklyn boy whose family said was repeatedly bullied at school in the days before he died.

The boy died at King County Hospital on Friday, according to police, who said he had no obvious signs of trauma.

He was taken to the hospital from a home on Cortelyou Road, near Nostrand Avenue, in East Flatbush.

Officers responded to a 911 call at the home around 3:20 p.m. Police said the boy was conscious but complaining of pain to his head.

The boy's family, who identified him as Romy Vilsaint, said he had been beaten up by bullies at school on Wednesday and Thursday before staying home sick on Friday.

Romy's cousin, Roodwiny Exantus, said Saturday that two boys had beaten up the fifth grader on Wednesday and that another boy punched him in the head for $1 on Thursday.

Romy had a severe headache and was vomiting on Friday before EMS arrived, he said.

"A beautiful soul," Exantus said of his cousin. "He liked to make jokes and get along with everybody. No matter who you are, he get along with you."

The boy's distraught father, Romy Vilsaint Sr., said that he hopes to send the body of his only son back to Haiti, where his mother lives, for burial.

The medical examiner will determine his cause of death.

Police said an investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
