NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An NYPD officer was freed without bail over the weekend after he allegedly punched his wife in the face while off duty in Brooklyn.

Daniyar Nurtaza, 41, was arrested Sunday morning and charged with assault, attempted assault, menacing and harassment, the Daily News reported Monday.

Nurtaza's wife told responding officers that he beat her in the face multiple times in their Gravesend apartment building around 1:30 a.m., leaving her bruised and swollen, according to a criminal complaint.

Nurtaza, who is assigned to Transit District 34 in Coney Island and joined the department in 2015, has been suspended without pay, cops told the paper.

He was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Sunday and released without bail.
