NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released surveillance images Tuesday of a man suspected of using a laptop to beat a woman’s head on a subway train in the Financial District.
The 65-year-old victim was riding a northbound W train on the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 9, when the man suddenly attacked her as the train approached the Rector Street stop, cops said.
He took a laptop from his backpack around 10:20 a.m. and then used the device to strike the victim multiple times on her head, according to police.
The victim got off the train at Rector Street and was transported by EMS to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, where she was in stable condition.
Her attacker remained on the train and was last seen getting off at Canal Street, police said. He’s believed to be in his 30s.
