NYPD searches for woman seen fatally shooting victim on Brooklyn street

Warning: The video above is graphic.

NEW YORK (WINS 1010) — The NYPD released horrifying video Friday of a woman fatally shooting another woman on a Brooklyn street this week as police continue their search for a suspect.

The video shows the shooter walking away from a white SUV moments before she targets the victim on a busy sidewalk on Franklin Avenue, near Prospect Place, in Crown Heights around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday.

In the video, the woman casually walks past a group of people, pulls out a handgun and shoots the victim in the head at point-blank range.

The shooter then walks away and gets into the white SUV before fleeing the scene, according to police and the video.

Police said the victim, 42-year-old Delia Johnson, suffered gunshot wounds to her head and leg. She was pronounced dead at Interfaith Hospital.

Johnson's family told the Daily News that they believe the shooter followed her to the location from a funeral in the area.

"She was at a funeral earlier in the evening for an old neighborhood friend to pay her respects, and then this happened," her brother, Mathis Johnson, told the outlet. "It was horrible. That lady executed my sister."

Police believe the suspect is in her mid-20s.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
