NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police on Tuesday released photos of two suspects accused of spraying an on-duty NYPD traffic agent in the face with a fire extinguisher in Harlem last week.

Just before 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, a 43-year-old NYPD traffic agent was on-duty and in uniform performing his duties in the vicinity of Saint Nicholas Avenue and West 118th Street when he was approached by a group of four suspects in a gray sedan, authorities said.

One of the suspects then discharged a fire extinguisher into the face of the traffic agent.

The suspects fled in the vehicle northbound on Saint Nicholas Avenue.

EMS transported the traffic agent to St. Luke's Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in stable condition.

Reported video of the attack shows a car pulling up to the traffic agent's vehicle and a person in the passenger seat spraying the extinguisher at the agent.

Police identified one of the suspects as 19-year-old Escarlin Polanco Gonzalez.

Anyone with information in regard to the whereabouts of these individuals is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
