NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The driver of a marked police car hit a female pedestrian in the Bronx on Monday, leaving her in critical condition, the NYPD said.
The police vehicle hit the pedestrian on Pelham Parkway North, near Wallace Avenue, in the Allerton section of the Bronx around 3:25 p.m. on Monday, the department said.
She was taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries, and was not expected to survive, the NYPD said.
Police didn't immediately release the pedestrian's age or provide additional details about the incident. An investigation is ongoing.
