NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials arrested an off-duty firefighter early Tuesday after he allegedly threatened a teen with a fake gun during a dispute in Brooklyn the day before.
Police arrested 33-year-old Eric Wachter on Tuesday, June 8, at 12:38 a.m, in the Flatlands neighborhood.
Authorities said the 19-year-old was waiting for a taxi cab at about 11 p.m. on Monday when Wachter walked out of his home in Bergen Beach and demanded to know why he was standing there.
He then allegedly pulled out the imitation gun and threatened to shoot the teen stranger with the weapon during the dispute, according to officials.
Wachter was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, and harassment, according to the NYPD.
An investigation is ongoing.
