NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Authorities are investigating after an off-duty NYPD officer was slashed as he mowed his lawn in Queens on Thursday, according to reports.
The slashing occurred at about 3:15 p.m. near 127th Street and 149th Avenue in South Ozone Park, sources told PIX11.
The victim was mowing his lawn when an "emotionally disturbed" man attacked him, law enforcement sources told the New York Post.
The off-duty officer suffered minor cuts, the outlet added.
A suspect was taken into custody at the scene.
Officials also recovered a knife.
An investigation remains ongoing.
